Citizenship is an extremely important aspect of democracy and civic engagement. We encourage our clients to apply as soon as they become eligible. Citizenship may be acquired at birth, or through parents who have naturalized. Naturalization is available to those who have had lawful permanent resident status for the required period of time. If you are married to and living with a U.S. citizen, you may file for naturalization two years and nine months from the time you were first granted lawful permanent resident status. For all others, you may apply as early as four years and nine months.
We understand the decision to file for citizenship or naturalization is significant and brings both many benefits as well as responsibilities. We will advise you in your decision process and assist in your application.
Furthermore, we are located across the street from Malden’s Immigrant Learning Center which offers English language and citizenship classes to assist you in preparing for your naturalization interview.
